With 'Luck' comes insight...
Before the big ‘Luck’ story hit the news circuit, I’ll be honest I was only vaguely familiar with Andrew Luck, the former Colts QB. I have, however, been slightly pre-occupied with his decision to leave the NFL at age 29. I’ve read articles and watched his last press conference where he communicated his decision with emotion and heart. Many people are surprised at his decision to leave the NFL and the $$$, and I can understand that, but I also respect Luck for knowing when the time was right for him to take a ‘knee’.
What I take from this situation is that many of us often stay in a job because we think it’s the best thing to do even when it doesn’t feel right, albeit we aren’t in the same physical pain that Luck has experienced, but possibly similar mental anguish. Certainly, we aren’t all in the financial position to make a seemingly quick decision like this, but we can evaluate our situation and develop a plan that will put us in a new and better place. Like Luck, we aren’t just quitting when times get tough, but rather making the decision to live our best life.
