From rain to rainbows...
Why do rainbows occur? Typically and simply, we see rainbows after it rains when sunlight hits droplets of water in front of us at a certain angle. Interestingly, a rainbow doesn’t actually exist in a certain spot in the sky, in fact it is an optical illusion. Also, no one experiences the same rainbow as it depends on where you are standing and where the horizon is in comparison to where you are.
Lately (at least on the East Coast), we have seen a lot of rain, and it often negatively impacts our mood. Like life, we can experience ‘rain-like’ situations over and over and we can endure frustration and weariness. Recently, I saw a beautiful double rainbow like I’d never observed before and it reminded me that after many days of rain, an amazing and uplifting experience can happen. We all have to keep pushing ahead even when days of rain knock us down; you never know when that exquisite double rainbow will come to life.
