Face your fears...

Seeing many Halloween decorations in my neighborhood, I remember the childhood fears I had of ghosts, skeletons, and witches. Sometimes, my friends and I were even afraid to trick or treat at certain “spooky houses” where we didn’t know what to expect.

This time of year reminds me that often the ‘unknown’ can be scary. It’s a natural and basic feeling and I am sure one to which many of us can relate. Just like Halloween, the more times we experience the unfamiliar the more comfortable we become. Even the butterflies or the sick feeling in the pit in our stomachs can be calmed with a few breaths and acceptance. Halloween reminds us that facing our fears is part of life and can earn us unlimited rewards.
