Let the madness begin...

March madness is my favorite time of year. I love college basketball – the passion, the effort, and the underdogs. All weekend I was excited about the upcoming tournament. I couldn’t help but think about how the players and the coaches get ready to maximize their performance. It made me think about the elements that make a team, any kind of team, successful.

Think about all the practicing, training, and tactics to ready a team for the big dance or a launch of new product or campaign. So, what can make the difference between winning and losing? When two teams step onto the court (or into the marketplace), both have worked hard to give it their best. Once the game begins it often comes down to the strategy - how should the team pivot or make changes based on what they see from their competitor. It’s just like life and business. We all can be prepared for success but making tweaks and reacting to changes will be the difference.
