Leadership and change....

I was reminded today of how hard it can be to lead others in a direction that they don’t understand or are not motivated to follow. I was driving home this morning in a heavy downpour when I saw a woman trying to walk her two Bassett hounds who clearly didn’t want to have anything to do with walking in the rain.

This image of two dogs pulling in the opposite direction of where they should have been going reminded me of the importance of leading others in a conducive environment where everyone is on the same page and has the same understanding of the situation. Change can be hard enough without adding a layer of uncertainty and lack of knowledge of the situation. Success stems from walking and moving in the same direction together.
