Does the early bird catch the worm?

You can’t disagree that planning ahead is a bad strategy. But does the early bird always win? It’s a struggle to determine what works best. Some of us are planners while others work best under pressure. The Fall is a time to plan for the next year… or to submit college/graduate school applications. Many parents watch their kids work to get their applications completed in time for early action, early decision, or rolling admissions. It can be frustrating for some to watch last minute activity, but in all fairness to these kids, they have been planning for these opportunities for many years, working hard to achieve success in their lives.

Planning ahead or striving to meet deadlines both have their challenges. In the end, both skills are incredibly important in our fast-paced world where things can change very quickly. Let’s give ourselves and our kids a break because in the end it’s all about the life skills we develop along our journey.
